Despite the chill in the air, we were delighted to have a crowd of several hundred people join us at the Ferst Center for the Arts last Wednesday for the Arts in Crisis presentation with Michael Kaiser, president of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. The audience included representatives of local arts organizations, volunteers, board members, students, individual artists, and other nonprofit professionals.
Kaiser, author of The Art of the Turnaround: Creating and Maintaining Healthy Arts Organizations, discussed his ten rules for reviving foundering arts organizations during an interview with Susan Weiner, executive director of the Georgia Council for the Arts.
